Head back down from Kaloko Drive (see post under relax) and turn right onto Makahi St. The dead end starts the 5 mile looped trail on Hualalai, known as Jurassic Park Trail. The trail has other names; Makahi St Trail and Kaloko Trail).
From Makahi St dead end, the trails are on your right. There are 2 and both end at Flat Line Trail. Jurassic Park Trail is on the left past information board. The right is Tree Stumps Trail.

Keep right on Jurassic Trail and it will dead end into Flat Line Trail. You can go back up Jurassic Park Trail, or make a right onto Flat Line Trail. At the fork, go left. That is Tree Stumps Trail, which leads back to Mahaki St. If you go left, it eventually dead ends.
Once you begin, it feels like Jurassic Park. The trees are rooted up , vines hang down, and overgrown greenery make it feel like another world. It hard to not think a raptor is lurking nearby or a T-Rex growling overhead.
Look for ginger roots, they smell amazing (not edible) and prepare for mosquitoes!! The trail does require good shoes. It does get muddy, too.
All the videos I took, were of me pretending to run from dinosaurs. My friends and I had fun being amateur filmmakers.
I am still on the hunt for dinosaurs...
