At the end of Honokohau Harbor are 2 beaches: Honokohau and Alula. From the large parking lot, to the right of the bathrooms, is a trail leading to Honokohau Beach.
Large white sands stretch around with boulders of lava rock creating smaller islands within the Honokohau Bay. Sea turtles are known to sunbath on the sands and swim in the waters.
I didn't spend too much time here. If I go back, I will write more :) There are snorkeling tours, restaurants, and shops along the pier facing the harbor. I ate at Harbor House Restaurant. The staff was rude and my meal wasn't the best. BUT, the view was pretty awesome!
